Stage 25
Laterina-Arezzo
This is the last stop on our itinerary in Tuscany. You can definitely feel a sense of satisfaction for the journey that is now well underway, but also the melancholy that you feel every time an exciting experience approaches its conclusion. We have traveled a magnificent journey through space and time, seeing the work of nature and that of man, well integrated in this corner of Tuscany crossed by different peoples, protagonists of history for millennia. This stop is also very pleasant and offers us some gems not to be missed. The beautiful Villa Monsoglio rebuilt in Baroque style but from an earlier era; the cultural center of Rondine, where Peace is preached and practiced, on the banks of the Arno, a few kilometers from Arezzo; the Gioconda bridge, in Buriano, reproduced by Leonardo behind Mona Lisa, in the most famous painting of all time. And finally here is Arezzo, with its streets remained as they were in the time of Vasari, with the cycle of the True Cross by Piero della Francesca, with the Cathedral on the highest hill. And near it also our Patron, who has assisted us along the entire journey and now greets us from a very ancient little church, wishing us a good journey also in everyday life.
Once we arrive in Arezzo, once we have made the regenerating stop that we will need, we can set off again for the last part of the route that awaits us, namely the Area Centro, which covers the last stretch of the Via Romea Imperiale that will take us from Arezzo to Rome.
